Please find attached the ‘Open Call for AI-native Startups’ for SCAIS 2026, an initiative taking place within IEEE CAI 2026 in Granada, in connection with the University of Granada – UGR – ecosystem.

SCAIS is guided by an independent and high-level Scientific & Decision AI Committee, composed of outstanding members from UGR and IEEE, led by Prof Enrique Herrera de Viedma, CAI General Co-Chair and Vice-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the UGR and framed within a wider international ecosystem with reach across five continents. It ensures scientific rigor, evaluation integrity, and a globally informed perspective.

SCAIS is built around a clear proposition: Scientific Validation, Investment Access and European Positioning.

It is the ‘1st Scientific Selection Criteria for Artificial Intelligence Startups’ – SCAIS –, designed to identify AI-native Startups through independent scientific criteria, real market relevance, and a strong commitment to Responsible and Trustworthy AI through the R4 Framework: Responsibility, Reliability, Robustness and Resilience.
